Choosing a Cover Image for your Album

As photographers we want to create albums that tell a story.  A story that gives the viewer a look into the meaning and feeling of the family, wedding, baby, or person in the images.  This means you want a cover images that gives you a desire wanting to see more. 

Design preferences can be different from person to person so the most important thing to keep in mind is your client.  What do they desire, what do they enjoy and what story are you telling within their album?

Your cover image sets the theme for the entire album before the viewer ever opens up the book.  This could be a cropped images with just a glimpse of what is to come, or a lovely couple on the front sharing the love of what is to be seen inside.

No matter the story you are telling remember that not all stories call for the same style. Take time to choose a cover and material that is complementary to the images inside that album and choose a cover that pairs perfectly with the story inside the album.
